The United States government (also known as Halliburton) has just opened it’s new embassy in Iraq. This latest monument to despotism is the largest of all the embassies in the world.
How much did it cost us? A mere $592 million dollars.

The Briz finally had her baby. The little boy, named Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston, was born on Sunday. He weighed 7 lbs and 4 oz.
Bristol and her fiance are both 18, so technically it’s not as bad as the whole Jamie Lynn Spears sitch (she was 16 when she got knocked up), but the teens [...]

“If it’s a girl, Crystal is a nice name. And a boy, Meth-hew … maybe?”
– Comedian Christian Finnegan on the Keith Olbermann show making fun of Sarah Palin’s wacky family tree. It’s just too easy.

Bristol Palin surprised liberals and conservatives when it was confirmed she was pregnant, especially since her mother, Sarah Palin was running for vice-president on a “family values” platform.
Everyone loves a good ironic twist, especially when it makes their politicians look like hypocrites. Now, it’s time to add another layer to the redneck drama.
Bristol Palin’s babby [...]

During a press conference, President-Elect Obama was more than evasive, he was plain rude.
When asked about his Chief of Staff’s connections to disgraced Governor Blagojevich, Obama responded, “Don’t waste your question.”

When my friend Alli was moving to Richmond, I helped her. While she got everything ready, there was no cable. So I did what I always do when I have no TV: I bought a thick book.
That’s how I finally started the Twilight series.
Yes, I am admitting I read the first three Twilight books [...]

No wonder our country is going to the toilet. Our citizens AND our elected officials are dumb when it comes to the fundamentals of our country.
The civics exam by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute revealed that those in their sample of 2,500 people who described themselves as elected officials averaged a score of 44%.

Politicians don’t take a vow of poverty when they decide to run for office, but during a time of economic crisis, you would think they would be more aware of how they spend their money.
Example, Marie Antoinette, circa late 1700s during the french revolution. While her people were starving around her, she was still lavishly [...]

“Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and his top aides took credit for building a winning bailout coalition – hours before the vote failed and stocks tanked.”
- The lead in an article on Politico.com, describing the power the “Maverick” had over members of his own party. He is so out of touch, he didn’t even know his [...]

According to Hagee, God sent Katrina because of the gays. So if we follow his logic, that means God sent Kyle because of Wall Street and Washington.
Where did this tempest come from? Not from far off Afrika (where the medicine men curse the white folk) or the Caribbean (where the pirates be), but from right [...]

Saw this over at Mudflats, an Alaskan woman’s blog. Bilia, my long-time reader also pointed this out. There was a rally organized by women to reject the notion that all Alaskan women are like Sarah Palin and that they are all on her bandwagon. The event turned into the largest in the history of the [...]

“One doesn’t anticipate that one’s private conversation will be surreptitiously taped by some right-wing nutcase, but that’s the nature of what we’re dealing with.”
- Don Fowler, the guy in the video I posted who said he was happy that the hurricane was disruppting the Republican National Convention. Worse apology (if that what it was meant [...]

In Denver today there will be an anti-capitalism rally in front of the mint.
But don’t let that be a good excuse to not make a profit! That’s right, they are protesting capitalism while selling shirts. Capitalism sucks, but hypocrisy, well, thats ok, I guess.
