Posted by: BookGirl on: January 5, 2009

I was checking the Twitter when I read a tweet from Arutz Sheva, the Israeli media outlet I subscribe to on the networking site.  The headline read: “Worldwide Rallies Support, Praise Israel’s War on Gaza Terrorism.”

The article attached to it went on to discuss how thousands of people are marching in cities across the world [...]

Posted by: BookGirl on: December 19, 2008

Despite being caught on tape making illegal deals, disgraced Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich refuses to resign.  Instead, he blamed “a political lynch mob” of spreading false accusations about him at a press conference today.
Watch his appeal below.

He’s going to try to pull a David Vitter and hold on to a post [...]

“The Caroline Kennedy buzz is only the latest — if most overt — example of this (rampant nepotism). Here is a person with no government experience whatsoever, a person whose major claim to fame is her last name. And she’s in a state teeming with possible candidates who exhibit a wealth of experience and political [...]

Governor Blagojevich, the man who basically put Barack Obama’s senate seat on E-Bay, still hasn’t resigned from his position.
In fact, he’s still signing bills, according to the LA Times.
Outraged state law makers will take action in to their own hands.

Posted by: BookGirl on: November 29, 2008

The Spanish government sponsored an art project that cost $23 million dollars.  The “art,” made by one of the foremost Spanish artists, Miquel Barcelo, was created to decorate the ceiling of the United Nations in Geneva.
Forty percent of the expensive fee came from the Spanish government, including $600,000 from funds designed for foreign aid.

“Ultimately the message is always toward Washington because it’s also the perception that Washington, in their way, directly or indirectly funds both sides of the war on terror. They fund our side, then our petrol dollars going to Saudi Arabia through Pakistan and ultimately these terrorist groups, which are very organized.”

Swiss To Ok Prescription Heroin?

Posted by: BookGirl on: November 29, 2008

The Huffington Post reports prescription heroin might get the green light in Switzerland.  The country has had a program in place for 14 years where doctors provide addicts with a “safe” dose of the drug to curb their cravings. The dose doesn’t provide the patient with a high, but rather, satiates the withdrawal symptoms so [...]

Miami Judge Oks Gay Adoption

Posted by: BookGirl on: November 25, 2008

It’s a move that will challenge Florida’s laws against gay adoption. A circuit judge in Miami made a ruling in favor of Martin Gill, a gay man, who wants to adopt two foster children he’s been raising.
Gay adoption does NOT challenge families,
it encourages them.

Posted by: BookGirl on: November 21, 2008

What is the world coming to?  Well, some poindexter government workers think they know.
The article entitled “The year 2025: oil, dollar out; Russia, Islam in” isn’t encouraging.
Based on a study released every 4 years by the National Intelligence Council that is supposed to give American leaders insight into looming “uh-ohs,” the article is a tad [...]

Posted by: BookGirl on: November 20, 2008

To illustrate how Bush has ruined America and the world, we have the following video clip from the G20 summit.

They wouldn’t even look at him as he passed by.  Yet another reason we need a leader like Obama at this moment.

Posted by: BookGirl on: October 26, 2008

Ralph Nader of the lord knows what party and Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party participated in a debate on Oct. 24.
Third parties get no respect, but I’m glad people still hold fast to their ideals.
