It must be tough living in the Governor’s mansion during a recession.
Proving that in South Carolina, backwoods coon hunting usually cures all ills, the state’s top leader, Mark Sanford, “disappeared” after a stressful few days.
No one knew where he went. Not even his wife!

“However long we are keepers of the public trust we should never forget that we are here as public servants and public service is a privilege. It’s not about advantaging yourself. It’s not about advancing your friends or your corporate clients. It’s not about advancing an ideological agenda or the special interests of any organization. [...]

Oh so here we come on inauguration day. A day I was hoping would never come. It’s not that I don’t want change, because God knows I do, but a day that I fear is going to lead to a worship of an unworthy hero. I know I’m Cuban and we hold on very [...]

According to MSNBC:
«A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry said they [...]

Guys, take note. If you want to get laid, throw your shoes at George W. Bush.
An Egyptian man, Saad Gumaa, has offered his daughter in marriage to the Iraqi journalist, Muntader al-Zaidi. Al-Zaidi has become a hero after almost hitting President Bush in the face with his size 10 shoes.
Gumaa is gushing over the man [...]

Lisa Valentine, a Muslim woman, wore a her usual headscarf when she accompanied a relative to traffic court. The bailiff asked her remove it before going into the courtroom.
She refused and uttered “This is bullshit” as she departed. The bailiff decided to arrest her and brought her before the bench of Judge Keith Rollins.
Rollins sentenced [...]

“The Caroline Kennedy buzz is only the latest — if most overt — example of this (rampant nepotism). Here is a person with no government experience whatsoever, a person whose major claim to fame is her last name. And she’s in a state teeming with possible candidates who exhibit a wealth of experience and political [...]
