Tom Brokaw has been chosen by NBC to host Tim Russert’s show, “Meet the Press” in the wake of Russert’s untimely death.

His role as anchor will be temporary.

«“I volunteered,” Mr. Brokaw said in a telephone interview from his ranch in Montana. “A number of people had suggested it. Steve Capus and I talked about it over the weekend. I looked at my calendar and manipulated a couple of personal things, and I told him I can get us through the election.”»

I love Tom Brokaw.  He got me through the horror of September 11th with his soothing voice and steady demeanor. I’m sure he will do a great job while NBC finds a more permanent replacement.  Chuck Todd perhaps?
