Obama Apologizes For Calling Reporter “Sweetie”

Damn those ultra feminist women for constantly fuckin’ it up for the rest of us. No, I am not an old fashioned cow when I say I don’t care if a man calls me “sweetie”. “Half-breed” would piss me off. But sweetie? That’s just ridiculous.

The reporter complained because Obama told her to “wait a minute sweetie” and never got back to her. Maybe she should have tried being a more aggressive reporter and less “sweet” and she would have gotten her question answered. Maybe Obama’s comment was less sexist and more accurate.

Anyway, apparently Obama called her and left a voice mail message apologizing. Apologizing for calling her “sweetie”? It’s not like he pinched her ass or something as she went by. It’s a term of endearment. Endearment is a good thing.

Rap artists call women “ho”s, “bitches” and some other distressing names. I want a freaking apology on my voice mail from Lil’ John RIGHT NOW.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler called Hillary a “bitch” in a very funny skit and everyone was ok with that.

I guess “sweetie” will go the way of the “N” word. Only black people can use the “N” word and only women can call each other “sweetie”. (Even that analogy bothers me because in no way is “sweetie” as derogatory as the “N” word.)

Betcha Obama Girl wouldn’t have minded. I wouldn’t have either. He can me sweetie any day. lol.

  1. I know this is a late reply, but I’m just now catching up with posts I missed. :) It’s not that he called her sweetie that’s the problem. It’s that he assumed she would want to be called sweetie and that by doing so his actions would be excused. I do think she over reacted, but the issue here is that he used a term of endearment without knowing her. It’s like saying “just a minute, buddy.” My reaction would be “I’m not your buddy. You don’t know me.” To exemplify it the term he used is only for women. You would call a male reporter “sweetie.” If he was taking her out on a date sweetie would be acceptable, otherwise it could be taken as sexist. I think an apology was warranted.

True.. but it’s not like he used it in a condescending manner. Political correctness is choking out civility. Simple gestures of kindness are turned into negatives and it makes people think twice before they are genteel.

I’m just mourning the death of chivalry in the name of gender equality. That’s where I’m old fashioned, I guess.

Thanks for your comment, Sweetie. ;)
