Political Pundit Offers an Interesting Explanation

I just wanted to throw this idea out there. I was watching Olbermann’s show last night and Richard Wolffe from Newsweek magazine said that maybe Clinton is keeping her campaign going so she can raise more money and pay off her debts.

I mean, it makes sense. In her “victory” speech in Indiana she asked for money right away and Wolffe says that upon visiting her site, the first thing that comes up is a box for your credit card number.

Clinton has already loaned herself $11.4 million but her campaign is still in debt. There are rumors going around that Obama’s campaign has offered to settle her outstanding bills as well as her personal loan if she quits.

That kinda puts a hole in Wolfe’s argument, but still, it makes you wonder if she’s not staying in the race just to keep whatever’s left of her reputation. It can’t be good for her ego to lose to Obama AND need him to bail her out. I also don’t think it’s right for the Obama Campaign to spend their money (given by faithful small donors) to tie up the election and fix her mistake. Let her use her own millions.
