Michigan & Florida Decided, Four Delegates Spell Anarchy

Posted by: BookGirl on: May 31, 2008

The proverbial shit has hit the fan.
After an extremely lengthy, arduous (this is a perfect time to use that word) debate that stretched almost all of Saturday, the Rules and Bylaws Committee finally came to an agreement.

What McCain is Doing While Democrats War

Posted by: BookGirl on: May 31, 2008

John McCain is enjoying the lack of scrutiny he is receiving. For all his military experience, he is making gaffe after gaffe on the Iraq war. The last time, as you may remember, he confused the Shias and Al-Qaeda, implicating Iran was working directly with Al-Qaeda without any proof.
Now he’s getting the number of brigades [...]

A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Posts

Posted by: BookGirl on: May 31, 2008

– Sarah Jessica Parker, aka Carrie Bradshaw. I love that top. The new Sex and the City movie opened this weekend. I’m not chomping at the bit to see it, I know that’s probably some sort of heresy to my gender, but I do appreciate the effect the television show has had on women [...]

Worthy Quote: Howard Dean

Posted by: BookGirl on: May 31, 2008

“We are strong enough to struggle and disagree and to even be angry and disappointed and still come together at the end of the day and be united.”

– DNC Chairman, Howard Dean, during the ultra important Rules and Bylaws committee meeting where the fate of the Florida and Michigan delegations will be decided.  Whether that [...]

Last night 28 of the 30 Rules and Bylaws Committee members got together in a hotel restaurant to discuss the Michigan-Florida delegates. The meeting started at 8 pm and did not end until 1:30 am. For five hours a range of scenarios were discussed, but no conclusion was reached.

Not-So-Worthy Quote: Dana “ICE QUEEN” Perino

Posted by: BookGirl on: May 30, 2008

“Hypothetically, which I’m not supposed to answer a hypothetical, yes, I think so. The law would allow for that. But by saying that, I’m not suggesting that that’s what would happen or not happen.”

– Current Press Secretary Dana Perino when asked if the White House can block Scott McClellan from testifying before Congress on the [...]

Michigan And Florida: What It All Means

Posted by: BookGirl on: May 30, 2008

Benchmark after benchmark has been readjusted for the ever whining Clinton Campaign. Tomorrow, the DNC’s Rules and Bylaws committee is meeting to decide the fate of Michigan and Florida’s delegates.

Senator Obama currently holds the lead in pledged and superdelegates, but Senator Clinton (who you may remember for her starring role in the movie The Exorcist) [...]

George W. Bush: First Jester, Not President

Posted by: BookGirl on: May 29, 2008

It’s official, President Bush should totally go on Last Comic Standing after his failed political career finally ends in January.
Below is a picture of him chest bumping an Air Force Academy grad.

McClellan on Olbermann

Posted by: BookGirl on: May 29, 2008

Scott McClellan not only threw King George W under the bus, he appeared on Countdown with Keith Olbermann.  Yes, OLBERMANN.
This guy really knows how to promote a book. Video below.

June 3rd is D-Day

Posted by: BookGirl on: May 29, 2008

According to The Associated Press, top democrat “leaders” (do they even exist??) are calling for uncommitted superdelegates to pick a side by June 3rd.  Why June 3rd?
That’s when the final primaries will be held.  No more delegates will be left to win. Superdelegates will no longer be able to hide under a rock.

Former Bush Press Secretary Let’s It All Hang Out

Posted by: BookGirl on: May 29, 2008

Scott McClellan, who served as the White House Press Secretary from 2003-2006, has written a book which essentially throws his former employer under the bus.

He makes some startling revelations about what it was like working under the Bush Administration, and claims the Iraq War was started under a “political propaganda campaign“. The claim the [...]

My Award For Headline of the Week

“Spanish Becoming Dominant Language in Miami.”

– Full article HERE. As someone who was born and raised in Miami, this is OLD news but it’s still funny how the rest of America is now catching on.

Hillary’s Dreams Fizzle… AGAIN

Posted by: BookGirl on: May 28, 2008

Democratic Party lawyers have ruled the committee has the authority to seat half but not all of the delegates from Michigan and Florida. That is less than the Clinton Campaign wanted and needed.
They sent a 38 page memo to the Rules & Bylaws committee explaining that’s legally the farthest the committee can go. The [...]

Hillary’s Campaign Like Brown’s in 1992

Posted by: BookGirl on: May 27, 2008

Hillary Clinton keeps bringing up her husband’s campaign in 1992 as a reason for her to stay in the race and for once she’s right in her analogy. The only thing is she got her role mixed up. Her rival, Barack Obama, is Bill Clinton in this scenario and she’s taken on the role of [...]

Fox News Commentor Evokes Assassination As Joke

Posted by: BookGirl on: May 27, 2008

Again with the assassination rhetoric. A Fox News “analyst” by the name of Liz Trotta said this:
«“…now we have what some are reading as a suggestion that somebody knock off Osama, um, Obama — well, both, if we could.”»
Yes, because knocking off the terrorist who orchestrated September 11th is as high a priority as knocking [...]
