The government has been coming down harder on military contracts lately and has released some pretty troubling, if not surprising, statistical data.

«The special IG’s review of 47,321 reconstruction projects worth billions of dollars found that at least 855 contracts were terminated by U.S. officials before their completion, primarily because of unforeseen factors such as violence and excessive costs. About 112 of those agreements were ended specifically because of the contractors’ actual or anticipated poor performance.»
The article from AP also states some projects were not even finished but were reported as completed, including what was supposed to be a children’s hospital in Basra. Such practices are labeled as ways of “masking” the truth about what is going on in the Iraqi reconstruction.
Remember, the longer it takes, the longer we stay in the war. So, it’s vital they not jerk us around on this.

If you can remember, recently the Defense Department was in the news for a ridiculous arms deal with a 22 year old Miami native, Efraim Diveroli. The blunder exposed the inept practices and the financial mismanagement going on in the Pentagon.
This is just more evidence that we need a new President and Administration STAT.
