Book With John McCain Foreword Has Ironic Passage

I’m currently reading a book published in 2002 called, “Unfinished Business” by Harlan Ullman. The book has a foreword by Senator John McCain, the current republican pod person.

I didn’t have to get very far before I found a passage that is relevant to the controversial debate of “negotiating with terrorists”. President Bush chose to use his visit to Israel to imply that those who negotiate with our enemies are appeasers. He went as far as labeling our enemies as “terrorists” a term he likes to use to confuse and scare Americans who have been scarred for life by the September 11th tragedy.

In his book, Ullman, while explaining George HW Bush’s foreign policy credentials writes of two Republican presidents who chose to negotiate with the enemy:

Big Brown crossing the finish line and winning the second leg of the Triple Crown at the Preakness Stakes. Big Brown is the first horse to do so since 2004. Article HERE.  Big Brown is best known for beating Eight Belles, the horse Hillary Clinton had bet on, after the mare broke both ankles and was euthanized on the track. Eight Belles became an ironic symbol of Hillary’s failed campaign and Big Brown came to represent Obama.  I’m going to keep rooting for this horse!! :)

Worthy Quote: Thomas Paine

“…a government which cannot preserve the peace, is no government at all, and in that case we pay our money for nothing…”

– The insightful patriot Thomas Paine, in his history altering pamphlet “Common Sense“. If ever I were to point out an important political document that rivals our constitution in its significance, I would chose Mr. Paine’s manifesto.

Obama Superdelegate Rushed To Hospital

The man who helped turn the opinion tide for Senator Barack Obama, Senator Edward Kennedy, was airlifted to a local hospital after having a seizure.

Kennedy is 76 years old. Last October he had arterial surgery to remove a blockage.

Edward Kennedy is the last surviving brother of former president JFK and his Robert Kennedy. The eldest of the four sons, Joe, died in WWII.

Bush Asks Saudis For Help, They Shrug

For all his hand holding with Crowned Prince Abdullah, President Bush isn’t getting any perks from the Saudi Arabians. Bush has reportedly been trying to get them to increase their oil production and every time has been given the same response.

“No.”

Well, there goes Bush’s brilliant plan. The best he can do is go beg to the indifferent Saudis. He repugnates me more and more every day. Full NYT article HERE.

Remember this little gem?

What an uninformed jack ass. Pray for us, world!

UPDATE: Saudis decide to produce 300,000 more barrels of oil a day, but not because Bush asked them to, but because 50 other markets asked them to.  WaPo article HERE.

Obama Apologizes For Calling Reporter “Sweetie”

Damn those ultra feminist women for constantly fuckin’ it up for the rest of us. No, I am not an old fashioned cow when I say I don’t care if a man calls me “sweetie”. “Half-breed” would piss me off. But sweetie? That’s just ridiculous.

Worthy Quote: Arnold Schwarzenegger

“I respect the Court’s decision and as Governor, I will uphold its ruling.  Also, as I have said in the past, I will not support an amendment to the constitution that would overturn this state Supreme Court ruling.”

– The Republican Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger in response to the state’s Supreme Court Ruling that overturned the ban against gay marriage.  I wonder what McCain, who voted against a federal ban against gay marriage, will be doing now that he’s the republican nominee? Will he flip flop like he did with torture and taxes, or will he do the right thing?

McCain Ad Claims He’ll Save Us From Doomsday

Bush the Third John McCain’s newest ad looks into the future and claims he will save us from the edge we are teetering on by 2013.

He doesn’t tell us HOW he plans on saving the world because that would require him to admit he’s doing everything Bush is doing now and would therefore discredit his nifty little video. Enjoy the propaganda below.

California Rules In Favor Of Gay Marriage

The most populated state in our country just decided to make gay marriage (not civil unions) legal. The state’s Supreme Court overturned a ban by a slim margin of 4-3. They are only the second state to allow for gay marriage. Surprisingly Bushlandia, otherwise known as Texas by liberals, is the first. (Article HERE)

I’m pretty sure the decision is going to piss a lot of people off and bring the topic of a constitutional amendment back on the table for Obama and McCain. That gives me a headache.

This is a state issue and the federal government shouldn’t be involved. If you don’t like it, don’t live in California. And besides, there’s a portion of the constitution that covers this already. It’s called the “separation of church and state.”

Edwards Endorses Obama

Someone is sleeping on the couch tonight.

John Edwards, former vice presidential nominee for the democratic party in 2004, finally endorsed Barack Obama. The Edwards family was just as split as the country on who is right for the nomination. Edwards’ wife, Elizabeth, is rumored to be supporting Clinton because she’s white, female, and over 40 of Hillary’s health care plan.

Edwards’ endorsement comes after the telling but disappointing loss Senator Obama endured in West Virginia. I doubt his support will do much voter wise, but it’s another sign of the party coalescing behind the presumptive nominee. The Huffington Post also reports that the delegates Edwards won (18 in total) could end up going to Obama, leaving him just 25 delegates short of the magic number.

Couple that with a win in Oregon (which is likely) and we have ourselves a nominee, folks. Take THAT racists.

Young Girl Used In A Suicide Attack

This is just sick and disgusting.

An eight year old girl blew up after she was used as a suicide bomber by Al-Qaeda. The girl walked up to Iraqi military forces and seconds later a hidden bomb was detonated remotely.

An Iraqi captain was killed and four soldiers were injured in the blast.

The bombing is being reported by British news agencies, but has been confirmed by United States military personnel. Full article HERE.

A little girl was sacrificed by a group of heartless monsters. Words fail me at the moment. I am heartbroken. :(

Obama Loses in West Virginia…

…but that’s a win in my book. I’m not really interested in voting for the person that gets the West Virginia win. lol.

I mean one of them actually said: “He’s a half-breed and he’s a Muslim. How can you trust that?”

Um…………… the Clintons can KEEP West Virginia. If Obama’s not white enough for them that’s fine. I’m a “half-breed” and I’d never step foot in that crazy ass state. You can quote me on that.

So to Hillary, I say, revel in your racist, xenophobic victory like a true republican. Er “democrat”.

Worthy Quote II: Nancy Grace

“On behalf of women everywhere who have gone through fertility treatments, it is my firm belief that what happens between your legs is nobody’s business but your own.”

– Aggressive reporter Nancy Grace on having twins after 40 to Good Housekeeping Magazine, article sample HERE.  Politicians take note, mind your own testes and ovaries and leave ours alone.

West Virginia Primary Tonight

I’m not even going to front, Hillary has this one in the bag. Lets not get started on why… I think it would be insulting to both the voters and Hillary. We’ll just call her WV supporters “Hill-Billies”.

The good thing is that this race has been over for days if not weeks, so I don’t really care what happens in the Appalachian mountains. Also, I’m an elitist and will be too busy eating babies to watch silly West Virginia vote.
